The West’s multifaceted crisis is undermining the established norms of power, alliances and economic systems. This has been exposed and made worse by the United States and Israel’s war against Iran and all its unintended consequences.

Iran has so far managed to successfully resist and stand up to the US and Israel's brutal and unprovoked aggression. We must call for a real and lasting ceasefire and negotiations in a framework that respects Iranian sovereignty and the rule of international law, and guarantees safety to Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian civilians.

Europe is weaker relative to the US now than at any time since the end of World War 2 – the result of deliberate US strategy to subordinate its allies in order to create a disciplined bloc ready for major war against China. The Iran war has accelerated Europe’s difficulties.

Israeli weapon systems and tactics applied elsewhere are often touted and priced as “battle-tested” on Palestinians, but the way the aggressors are conducting their current war on Iran and Lebanon indicates that a strategy aimed at destroying the resistance and its social and material basis, trialled during the genocide and practically synonymous with it, is now being applied beyond Gaza.

The difficulties we face in trying to avert climate catastrophe are only becoming more evident. The avarice and myopia of capitalism are impediments the world can do without. To challenge that we need not only existing efforts but new campaigns everywhere.

After the regime change operation in Bangladesh which overthrew the Awami League government, elections took place installing a more pro-Western one. The divisions and problems created by imperialist domination continue to play out to the present day and these elections will not resolve the political conflicts in the country.

The world is more dangerous than it’s ever been. The US has escalated a campaign of reckless violence across the globe to try to offset its long-term decline. All pretence at restraint has been removed as the US tries to maintain its global hegemony.

President Trump's belligerent, confrontational tactics are one way of securing US global power, but some in Washington are concerned about the longer term consequences where its power and influence may actually be weakened.
